Sakura Wood Flat Spatula

The Sakura Wood Flat Spatula is shaped for smooth flipping and turning in the pan. Its thin edge slides easily under food, making it especially useful for pancakes, fried eggs, burgers, and other everyday dishes.

Crafted by Miyajima Kougei Seisakujo, a woodworking workshop founded in 1890 on Miyajima Island in Hiroshima, each piece is shaped from Japanese yamazakura (mountain cherry wood)—a hardwood valued for its strength, smooth grain, and the beautiful character it develops over time.

Lightweight and well balanced, the spatula feels smooth and comfortable in the hand while remaining gentle on cookware.

A Spatula Designed for Flipping

This flat spatula was designed with one purpose in mind: turning food smoothly in the pan. The thin edge slips easily under ingredients, making it ideal for pancakes, fried eggs, burgers, fish fillets, or grilled sandwiches.

The Character of Sakura Wood

Japanese yamazakura has a distinctive feel—smooth and gentle to the touch while remaining firm and resilient. Over time the wood deepens in color and develops a richer tone through regular use, giving each tool its own natural character.

A Natural Choice for Modern Cookware

Wooden utensils are especially well suited for non-stick and coated cookware. Unlike metal tools, the smooth wooden surface helps protect pans and hot plates from scratches while remaining quiet and comfortable to use.
